The Al Sharpton Diet: Become a Jailbird to Lose Weight
72According to Al Shapton, the best way to lose weight is to become a jailbird. That's what he said on MSNBC during the Morning Joe show on Friday, September 30. The formerly rotund Mr. Sharpton gave some friendly advice for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a larged size man, who has many supporters that want him to run as a Republican nominee for the 2012 presidential election. Many democrats have considered Governor Christie to be too fat to run for president and seem incensed that he is too eager to cut budgets but not calories.
Mr. Sharpton said during the show "So what I think we should do is put Governor Christie in jail for 90 days..." Mr. Sharpton started his diet when he was jailed in federal prison after being convicted of misdemeanor trespassing during a protest in Vieques and sentenced in May 2001. The demonstration was to protest the Navy bombing exercises that were being held on Camp Garcia, a part of the island that is federally owned. After the demonstration Mr. Sharpton and three other protesters went through a hole in the fence into Camp Garcia. Of the four who trespassed, Mr. Sharpton received the longest sentence of 90 days due to a prior conviction. His statement suggests that the Al Sharpton Jailbird Diet should only apply to rotund politicians and activists. We will be seeing whether he will suggest the same diet for Michael Moore.
According to Mr. Sharpton, he went on a fast during those 90 days and came out 30 pounds lighter. He did not say whether the jailhouse food has contributed to his decision to go on a fast. He's kept off the weight since then and lost a total of 150 pounds because he has "conquered" his appetite. Mr. Sharpton however, did not make any menu suggestions for Governor Christie nor did he give any advice on what kind of lawbreaking exercises Governor Christie should initiate in order to start the Al Sharpton Jailbird diet. Mr. Sharpton has said though, that he doesn't want real people on his diet. So according to Mr. Sharpton, his diet should only be recommended for fake people like politicians and community activists like him. I wonder if Michael Moore is taking note.

Interesting way to lose weight. I don't believe I shall be attempting this diet, ever.

Hi Cassie-I guess that would be a tough way to lose weight. I do agree that Christie could use some weight for his own health.
